You know, as much as we all really needed a week off from Hodgepodge last week (Joyce, because she was so jet-lagged and, lets face it, she does this every week... a week off is definitely more than deserved!) and me, well, just because of life events that deserved more attention, it was still good to come back today and see a new set of questions waiting! (And boy, was THAT a run-on sentence... don't tell my high school English teacher, ok?)
And if you'd like to join in on this weekly fun we call Hodgepodge, leave me a comment at the end letting me know you stopped by, and then check out Joyce's blog here and join in on the fun! It's a whole new group of friends! On to the fun!
1. Have you ever played golf? Any interest in playing? Do you have a significant other who loves to play? Did you watch The Masters this past weekend?
2. Hats are back in fashion this spring...how do you feel about wearing a hat? (fyi-I'm not talking baseball caps) When was the last time you wore one?

I have played golf - it's actually the only sport I enjoy doing with my husband... mostly because he can beat me at anything else, and we are equally bad at golf! In all seriousness, though, my grandparents were avid golfers and traveled the world playing at different courses, and I would LOVE to do that when we are older and retired! My hubs, as I mentioned, does enjoy playing, but unfortunately does not get to play very often. You know... because he's always off fighting a war or preparing to fight a war or something else...
I, however, do have a voucher for a golf clinic at our base golf course that I really need to cash in... especially since the temperatures are starting to warm up a bit!
And um... the Masters were this weekend? I don't need to watch 3 days of it... there's just something about the low masculine tones of the commentators that puts me right to sleep every time. ZZZzzzzzzzz
On a funny note... we can NOT play golf without quoting the Robin Williams diatribe on golf several time - without the language, more or less, depending on how badly we made our last shot. (Perhaps this is why we don't play well...) I was going to post a link to it, but, well, I try to keep this family friendly and lets just say, Robin wasn't very PG-rated in his diatribe. But it is quite funny. So find it on YouTube. ;-)
I don't wear hats. Not on purpose, anyway.
But I did take one to Hawaii this last fall, because somehow I knew my fair Idaho skin wouldn't know WHAT to do with sunshine on it in October! Um, so here's a picture of me with my hat. I really did wear it... I promise,,, but we were on a boat, and it was windy and... oh shoot... so I didn't wear it much. But I brought it - doesn't that count for something?
3. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 meaning proficient and 1 meaning "I'd starve", how adept are you at using chopsticks?
Oh dear... a 4. I can handle the larger meats and noodles, but not the rice so much. HOW do they do that?
4. Has technology taken over?
Yes. i don't know if this is good or bad.
5. In the course of a day how often do you look in a mirror?
Hardly ever, really. First thing in the morning while I'm putting my contacts in. And then last thing at night when I take them out.
6. Tulip or Daffodil?
Tulips! i absolutely love the variety and vivid colors! Sigh - I only wish they lasted longer! But when we were in Seattle's Pikes's Market two weeks ago they had SO many tulips all over the market, right off the farms and oh my... I was in heaven...
7. I am proud of myself for __________________.
Losing 10 pounds in the last two months and keeping it off! :-) Good vitamins, regular exercise... I feel SO much healthier and my energy level is better, and yes, I've dropped a size in clothing! Woot Woot!
8. Insert your own random thought here.
Ok - here's a question for you... and if you are reading this, please, leave me a comment with your answer to this question.
When you are invited to a wedding or baby shower, are you obligated to get something off of their registry? Or if you find something you think is cute or classy, is it ok to get them that?
As a young bride - we had NOTHING - I remember being slightly annoyed when people didn't get things off our registry because, really, we had NOTHING and those were things we needed! We didn't need crystal platters... we needed a toaster. However... I have a couple of showers coming up - for a 3rd baby, and for a couple who are in their 30s and have most of the "necessities" of everyday living... so, what are your thoughts? Do I stick with their registries, or am I free to go "outside the box" a bit and get something that I think would fit them but isn't what they asked for?
I really do look forward to your thoughts... thank you friends!
