Happy Leapy Hodgepodge!

Good morning friends!  Thanks for joining me for our weekly Hodgepodge!  Feel free to join Joyce over here for the original questions/answers and make some new friends - it really is a lot of fun!

1. The Hodgepodge falls on the last day of February this year, a leap year. How will you spend that extra day?

Extra day, huh?  It is supposed to be rainy and snowy all day, so me thinks I will be celebrating this extra day by getting caught up on household chores - the never ending mountain of laundry, floors, dishes, etc.  Perhaps I shall even get wild and crazy and pull out the carpet steam cleaner to get that spot at the top of the stairs.

I know.  Can you stand the excitement? :-)

And of course the music will be pumping.

2. What has recently required a leap of faith on your part?

Right now we are at a crossroads in our Air Force career - the "do we stay in or get out" kind of decisions... both directions have huge pros and cons.  Obviously getting out requires a leap of faith - much more so than getting in 12 years ago - so I guess you could say that this whole process is a leap of faith.  Humbling.  Scary.  Exciting.  Fraught with every emotion under the sun.  (but how cool that I got to use the word "fraught"!)

3. We're one week into the season of Lent...are you marking these 40 days in some way? Giving something up or adding something extra to normal life? How's it going so far?

I'm making an attempt to put on praise and worship music in the mornings instead of watching the news.  It has been wonderful - has changed the whole feel of the household!

4. When was the last time you sat beside a fire?

A few weeks ago when I had the flu and was all achy, I cuddled up with my favorite soft blanky next to our fireplace.  'Twas wonderful.

5. Surf and Turf is on the menu. Do you order as is or do you ask for just the surf (lobster), just the turf (steak), or a menu so you can select another option?

Right now I am trying to keep off the pounds, so I would probably go for the surf, sans butter - I know... a moment of silence for the butter... sigh...

But I do so love lobster!

6. If you could have any television program back, not in reruns but in new episodes, what program would you choose?

The Cosby Show!

7. They say an elephant never forgets. These days would you say your memory is more like an elephant or a gnat?

lately I've been doing pretty good, more like an elephant.  That is, with daily stuff.  However, I'm sure my friend Martha will remind me that I STILL have not ordered the Christmas ornament for her that I said I would three months ago.  Sigh... I really should do that... like, maybe today - that can count as my "catch up" right?  :-)

8. Insert your own random thought here.

A friend put this on Pinterest yesterday and I was struck by how beautiful it was.  I love it when musical artists can take a piece and really make it their own.  Have a wonderful day, friends.
