Happy Wednesday! (Well actually, it's Tuesday... and it's our anniversary... so I"m going to make this rather brief so I can spend some time with my hubby! No offense... I love you all, but... :-) So without further ado, on to the Hodgepodge!
1. Have you learned more from success or failure? Explain.
Definitely failure - for it's during those times that God brings you to the lowest point and you are forced to face what is really true, what is valuable, and hold on to Him like nothing else. And in the end, you come up stronger, having learned some harsh lessons about yourself and those around you...
2. What did you call your grandparents when you were growing up? If you have children, what do they call your parents? If you have grandchildren, what do they call you?
My mom's parents were Granny and Papa, my dad's mom and stepdad were Grandma Claires and Grandpa Hal. My parents are called MarMar and PopPops, and my in-laws are called Oma and Opa.
3. You're invited to a luau. In keeping with that theme, what dish will you bring to share?
A pineapple, cut in half vertically, and laid down on a platter, with a yogurt/pinapple/coconut dip put into the hollowed out pineapple, with cut up tropical fruit laid alongside it for dipping in the yogurt dip. Yummy!
4. Besides Jesus, what one person's life story do you think everyone should know about?
Abraham Lincoln. Such an amazing man, came from truly humble roots, and was a man of integrity.
5. "Don't sweat the small stuff." Agree or Disagree? Why?
A little of both. In many ways, if you don't pay attention to the small stuff, then it can accumulate and become big stuff. But in others, if all you focus on IS the small stuff, then you may lose sight of the bigger picture.
6. June is National Rivers Month. When were you last on a river? What's the prettiest river you've ever seen? What's a river you'd like to see?
Last time I was on a river was when we went rafting down the Boise River back in August. Prettiest river would have to be the Yosemite River. I can't think of any rivers that I particularly want to see... i like them all!
7. Speaking of rivers-paddling, fishing, swimming, or bird watching safely from the shore? Which activity would you choose? Yes-you have to choose.
I love kayaking! that's what I would choose!
8. Insert your own random thought here.
19 years ago my husband and I said "I Do"... And while not much has ended up the way we thought it would, we're still together, we still love to laugh, we have three amazing kids, we love our family, and God is faithful! It hasn't all been easy... some times have been downright rough... but through it all, we've remained faithful to God and to each other... and that, is what marriage is all about.

(This is at our rehearsal dinner... we were 21... but looking at this photo it looks like we were 16!)
