However, in the meantime... here's the belated Hodgepodge!

1. April rolls in at the end of this week and in celebration of that infamous date (April 1st) answer this question-What is something foolish you've done?
Oh my... so many to choose from... but the one that stands out the most is when I was a senior in high school and my closest friends kidnapped me on my birthday, dressed me in a truly disturbing outfit (complete with Mr Potato Head boxer shorts and a t-shirt that read "Objects Under This Shirt Are Larger Than They Appear" - which, sadly, wasn't all that true...) and had me dancing and singing on top of a table at Marie Callendars before they took off the blindfold and I realized where I was and that a restaurant full of people were not only staring at me, but were having their breakfast ruined by this teenage girl in crazy clothes singing in a slightly off key tune.
2. With April comes Easter and that classic edible treat known asPeeps...so tell me...what's your favorite way to fix/eat chicken? That wasn't what you were expecting, was it? I 'fooled' you. teehee.
Huh... normally i can think of roughly 5,342 ways to cook chicken... but right now, at this moment, perhaps I have not had my morning coffee yet, I am drawing a complete blank.
So I'll go with what is on the top of my head - and that is to throw chicken breasts in the crockpot, cover with a jar of salsa, and forget about it. Well, after turning on the crockpot, that is. Then, roughly 6 hours later, take the chicken out, shred on tortillas, mix with black beans and cheese and sour cream and all that good stuff...
and now I'm hungry for shredded chicken at 7:00 in the morning. I seriously need help.
But I do also have an awesome Greek chicken that I do make, if I do say so myself. But that's for another chicken blog, another time.

3. What's the best museum you've ever visited? Or your favorite? Or the one you'd most like to visit?
Museum of Natural History in Washington, DC. Hands Down.
But I would LOVE to visit the Guggenheim and the Louvre.
4. You know what they say about April showers...what's your preference-a shower or a bath?
Every once in a while I love a good soak in a huge bathtub with jets. We had a garden tub in our house in North Carolina and I miss it very much. Mainly because it was large enough for several bodies to fit.
Get your mind out of the gutter.
i am talking about these several bodies!
Of course, my husband and I made sure that, er, it was well used... as well... tee hee...
5. "Absence makes the heart grow fonder"...fact or fiction? Why?
Oh my... it is only when you are separated from someone that you truly appreciate all that they are to you. I lost one of my best friends in a tragic car accident two years ago, and not a day goes by that I don't miss her, and I can't wait to see her again.
And when my husband is gone on his military deployments, like he is now - well, lets just say that I can't wait to wake up to having him next to me in bed, or hearing him in the shower, or watching him play with our children, bringing out the laughs that only he can.
Sigh.
(Of course, I will admit that having the toilet seat left down permanently is something I could get used to... but nah, bring him home!)
6. What's your favorite product made/grown in your home state/province?
My home state is California, and while I considered naming Celebrities as the one product truly made (thanks to countless hours with plastic surgeons and personal trainers and groomers)... I've got to go with...
California Oranges - particularly the ones grown in Dinuba, CA by Uncle Randy and Uncle Denny. We have been known to strip an orange tree completely bare in a matter of minutes as we wander through their groves. In fact, here I am with my two sis-in-laws and bro-in-law a couple of weeks ago when we were all together at Nana's funeral. These oranges are from Nana and Papa's old groves (which now belong to the Uncles) - and there is just Nothing. Better. In. The. World. Period.
7. What is going on in the world today that affects you the most?
Well, obviously the situation in the Middle East affects me very much.
And also, the unemployment rate and high taxes and poor education system and plummeting housing market and teenage acne and little boys missing their daddy and cars falling apart literally as I drive them and...
8. Insert your own random thought here.
For Lent, I gave up excess spending. And you know what? It stinks.
And you know what else? It is very very easy to justify spending of any kind.
As in, "Well, if I'm buying this as a gift for a friend, then it doesn't count as excess spending."
Or, "If this bathing suit will give me the motivation to work out, and it is marked down from $95 to $25, then I surely HAVE to get it now or else I will not only miss out on this great deal, but I won't have the motivation to exercise, which will surely lead to heart disease and that really wouldn't be a good thing."
Lent - you are not my friend.
