Disney, Rome, and Spiders oh my!

1. The month of July was named for Roman Emperor Julius Caesar. He's quoted as saying, 'Experience is the teacher of all things." So what has experience taught you lately?

That nothing is ever certain, and without God as my rock, I'd be one sad crazy woman.

2. Where did you last 'roam'?

This afternoon, my daughter and I (and her friend Gracie) went to lunch and afterwards just meandered around the downtown shops before I headed back to work... it was fun!

Hubby and I also "roamed" on the beach the other night, talking about some difficult decisions we have in front of us... we were holding hands and an old lady told us to "Get a room" - we had to laugh!  Even through difficult times, I guess we've still "got it"!

3. Speaking of 'Rome'...pizza, pasta, gelato...you can only pick one, which would you choose?

Pasta!

4. 'Rome wasn't built in a day', 'All roads lead to Rome', 'When in Rome...' which 'Roman' idiom have you most recently encountered? Explain.

"Rome wasn't built in a day" - when it comes to my husband's job search, our family decisions right now... it's taking a lot of time, a LOT of prayer, and a lot of patience...

5. What's a movie you've seen or a book you've read, that makes you want to book a trip to Italy?

"Under the Tuscan Sun"  and "Letters to Juliet"

6.  Walt's original Disneyland opened almost sixty years ago, on July 17, 1955  Have you ever been to the California park? How about any of the other Disney parks around the world? What's your favorite amusement park ride or attraction?

I grew up in southern California, so yes, I have been to Disneyland many times.  Now, though, even though we live only 20 minutes away from Disneyland, it is so darn expensive we don't go!  When we lived in Florida we did go to Disneyworld - I wish I could go back and experience it again.

Favorite ride - Manta at Sea World... very cool roller coaster!

7. It's that time of year...when were you last bitten or stung?

We've had a huge burst of spider activity lately, so I've found some spider bites lately... but my poor Middle C stepped on a bee last Friday, and while she doesn't have a full blown allergy to bee stings, she does react poorly - her poor foot was swollen for the next 3 days and itched/hurt so badly... poor thing.

8.  Insert your own random thought here.

OK - so, I wasn't kidding about random spider activity - tonight I went to Costco, and when I opened up the back end of my minivan, there was a full spider web with a spider spread across my trunk!  What the HECK?  And what worries me even more is that it has obviously managed to LIVE for a while IN MY CAR! How?  What has it been eating?

WHAT OTHER CREEPY CRAWLIES ARE LIVING IN MY VAN???

And, on another note, please say a quick prayer for my hubs and I as we have a pretty huge decision to make about a job possibility - it's a good position, but comes with some major sacrifices that can't be dismissed easily... prayers for wisdom, discernment, courage, and peace! Thanks y'all!
